Five Guys Burgers and Fries

The East Coat king of the “All-American” staples has made its way to Madison WI. If you have yet to notice the screaming red “Five Guys” awing perched from its stark white State St. building, where have you been? Now we usually like to showcase an independent restaurant or at least one of local origin in our Featured Restaurant of the Month”, but sometimes there’s just someone doing the basics sooooo well, that it can’t go without praise. Five Guys Burgers and Fries is an “all food, no frills” type of joint that’s honestly pumping out some of the best burgers and fries in the country. If you’re looking for mile long menus or exotic cuisine, you aren’t going to get it here! Their menu consists of little more than burgers, fries, hotdogs, and soda.

All their burgers come double, with the option for cheese, bacon (or both), and an array of fresh toppings. True burger fanatics should just go straight for the “everything” burger, because that’s some serious burger business! Otherwise all Five Guys burgers are extra juicy, piled high with the classics of your choosing, and served on a soft and chewy bun. The ultimate burger sidekick…the fry, is something this place is doing “oh so right” as well. Throw your idea of “fast-food” taters out the window, because these fries are cut fresh, fried greasy golden to order, and sprinkled with just the perfect amount of salt (we couldn’t find a bad fry in the bunch). The only quam we have with Five Guys Burgers and Fries is that they are not open after bar time, other than that - when you want to get “your burger on”, you best be doing it here!
