Madison Freakfest Halloween Saftey...
UW Madison students, UW Madison Alum, and Madison locals have to set the example for what will be tolerated and what will not be tolerated from out of staters, as well as one another. Getting drunk and crazy in the sprit of Madison WI Halloween 2008 is awesome, but vandalizing the downtown Madison Businesses we all love, getting arrested, and/or physically harming one another is not.How Can I Contribute to a Safe Environment for Madison Halloween “FreakFest” 2008
1. Understand Madison Halloween “FreakFest” 2008 is not a “Free for All”
This simple lack of understanding this fact gets a lot of us in a lot of trouble! Though the days of past Madison WI Halloween Parties were a ton less structured, they too were never “free for alls”, and Madison Halloween “FreakFest” 2008 is DEFENATLY not either. We understand when you’re in an environment where excessive amounts of people are drinking and partying in excessive amounts, it tends to feel as if the environment itself takes on almost a “lawless” type of feel, but we can assure you ALL laws are completely enforced! The drinking age is still 21, you still cant use drugs, you still cant take a leak in public, you still cant punch or hit people, you still cant vandalize property, you still cant taught police officers, and you still cant perform sexually explicit acts in public… hey its not up to us, these are WI state and USA Federal laws, so don’t kill the messenger!
Now if it sounds like following theses laws will rip your Madison Halloween “FreakFest” 2008 from the clutches of fun, then go ahead it’s a free country, but trust us being lawful Madison WI citizens at Madison Halloween “Freak Fest” 2008 will be a hell of a lot more fun than citations, fines, and/or the drunk tank:)
2. If you’re going to drink (and you most likely are) at Madison Halloween “FreakFest” 2008, do it like a professional.
Madison were known for our fun having, crazy parting, and beer loving ways… so lets just keep it at that! Drink responsibly to have a good time at Madison Halloween “FreakFest” 2008, not to black out, pass out and not remember anything you did.
3. Be a leader and not a follower at Madison Halloween “FreakFest” 2008:
Riots are kind of like throwing a party at your parent’s house in High School, its all fun and games until they come home early.
If you have been around for Madison WI Halloweens in the past, then you have most likely been a part of, witness, and either way probably got your ass tear gassed as a result of crowed antics spiraling out of what the Madison city police deem as “control”. Just because others are jumping off the bridge, doesn’t mean you have to go with them. If a group of individuals in the Madison Halloween “FreakFest” 2008 crowed start to get out of control trust us your best bet is to move as far from them as possible. Your eyes will be happy you did.
