If you’re looking for a great spot to take a date, or an awesome restaurant to brunch with friends, check out a Madison, WI favorite, The Eldorado Grill. Now for Madison students, you’re going to find the drinks and entrees a bit pricey for a college kids budget, but like I said this is a killer spot to take a special date, and their brunch is really reasonable and one of the best in the city of Madison (not just my personal opinion either, these guys were Voted Best Brunch in Madison)!
“With classic favorites like Chicken Fried Steak and Baby Back Ribs, Executive Chef Kevin Tubb wrangles the flavor of the south west into every item on his menu. Feeling adventurious, try one of his South of the Border creations such as Spinach Mushroom Enchiladas.”
Me and the girls, “brunched it up” at The Eldorado Grill last weekend, and you can score really unique brunch entrees for under $10 a pop, which I thought was a really good deal compared to some of the other Madison WI restaurants we have went to brunch at in the past. A few of the items ordered by the group:
VEGETABLE CHILAQULLAS / 7.79
A Mexican casserole made with layers of tortilla chips, Monterey Jack cheese, roasted zucchini, poblano peppers, onions and tomato. Topped with pico de gallo and served with salsa verde and black beans.
YIPPEE HASH / 7.79
Pan fried potatoes with broccoli, onions, peppers, mushrooms, tomatoes and Feta cheese. Served up with a side toast. (great for a hangover)
We did order drinks (because you have to bite the dog that bit) and here’s where we piled on the cash to our bill (but totally worth it). The Mimosa’s were over $5, and the Bloody Mary’s ran over $6, but they were made with either home-made chili vodka or tequila, which was excellent (not your typical “college bar” Bloody). So, as far as Madison WI “Tex-Mex-Style” Restaurants go, The Eldorado Grill has my vote as one of the top… oh, and I forgot to mention, a side of “Blue Corn Pancakes” is an absolute must! Happy brunching!
